How We Recycle Silicone A big part of why we love silicone so much around here is that it pretty much never breaks or wears out. But if the time comes to say refresh your silicone stash, we’ve found a way to ensure you can do it without producing any waste.
When you send your silicone products back to us for recycling, we send it off to a specialized facility we’ve partnered with to break it down. The silicone products are broken down into siloxanes. This material then goes through a process known as depolymerization, and then it’s ready to be turned into new products.
Using silicone as an alternative to plastic allows for the product to last longer, negating the need to consistently replace disposable & non-disposable plastics. We have put in place a recycling program allowing consumers to return their silicone tableware or drinkware to us directly. We then send the items to a facility which breaks them down into siloxanes where they are depolymerized to make silicone oil used as lubricant for industrial machines, water repellents, sealants & more.
